I figured my first fashion post should be about must-have, classic style. Also, Black and White was on many runways for Spring 2013, so the LBD (or Little Black Dress) is a perfect way to be both trendy and classy this spring. The LBD is, or should be, a staple in every woman’s closet. It dates back to 1920’s Coco Chanel designs intended to be versatile, long-lasting, affordable, and accessible (shout out to Wikipedia for the history lesson). You can see why Coco is regarded as a fashion genius, her LBD has lasted the test of time, which is more than can be said for trends like Uggs or scrunchies (gag).
The LBD is revered by women around the world today for all the same reasons as back in the day. You can dress it up, dress it down, wear it to work, or out on the town (holy Dr. Suess moment). But seriously, it is extremely versatile and best of all, comes in a variety of price options. Personally, I would suggest investing in this closet staple. Find the LBD that best fits your personal style and body type and go to town. Don’t take out a second mortgage or anything, but find a quality LBD that will last, because it doesn’t look like it’s going out of style anytime soon.

The classic LBD: Here is a great investment piece, coming in under one hundred dollars. It could easily be dressed up for a night out with a cute leather jacket or statement necklace or a day in the office paired with a go-to blazer.
The bargain LBD: Forever 21’s Love 21 line is a little more sophisticated than the typical Forever 21 fare and is a great place for bargain buys that are still fashionable. Plus the shift dress style is flattering on a variety of body types.
The sexy LBD: This one might break the bank or be a lottery dream, but nothing says sexy like a curve hugging Herve Leger body con dress.
The flirty LBD: This affordable version has a cap sleeve and fuller skirt that screams demure with a side of sass.
The sassy LBD: The sassy pick, which mixes a faux leather top, flirty skirt, and key hole back, is a great day to night pick that incorporates the leather look that is oh so in right now.
